Government least bothered about price hike

Saavan mein jo andhe ho jaate hain , unhein har waqt har taraf hariyalee hi dikhati hai.
( Those who are privileged are always in denial about basic amenities for underprivileged section of the society.)

This famous proverb seems suitable for prevailing situation of the nation through the eyes of the mainstream media .Condition of the common man is like boiling frog -- frog being boiled do not comes to know but he slowly & firmly advances in the mouth of death – our policy makers armed with posh degrees, experience & words give euphemistic statements on the plight of aam aadami.

If you ask them, instantly they will provide you statistical makarjaal that inflation is hovering near this( some cosmeticised value ) and our economy is resilient. Now what should a layman do of this sugar coated data and resiliency of the economy, he should eat it or drink it or pour it in the drought hit fields.

Your economy is resilient then share market will thrive high and the investers--who are less than 0.5 % of the population--who are already on the top of country’s socio-economic pyramid will benefit.

In case this stock boom crumbles down due to misadventure of some high profile untamed business tycoon like Ramalinga Raju action will not be taken to restore the order, like Karnataka government ( ruling congress ) even did not allowed SEBI( Security and Exchange Board of India ) to grill him.

Later when SEBI armed it with court’s order it got a chance to grill this high profile dacoit. It shows the vulnerability of lower income group against the higher income group in the current regime.

One day I was going somewhere by rickshaw , at the termination of my journey rickshaw puller asked me for fifteen rupees, I said that I had paid for the same trip ten rupees merely three months ago.

He backfired with a razor sharp argument that “bhaiya teen maheene pehale aaloo aath mein tha bari taroi chh mein aur daal basath Rs./kg thi aur aaj”(three months before potato was Rs eight per kg , pulses Rs forty six per kg taroii six Rs per kg and now you know). I paid him while thinking about big-bang reforms of Manmohan Singh.

Media representatives of the Congress party and government claims that inflation is very low in contrast to it, inflation based on consumer price index has been and is around 9 % . In addition to it Murali Deora gave the green signal to price hike of petrol & diesel .

All India Motor Transport increased it’s fair charges combine it with effect of drought gives a hope that inflation is bound to increase in terms of inflation based on consumer price index.

The hike in price of petroleum derivatives reminded me of one more thing which I think will be suitable to mention here the natural gas controversy. RIL (Reliance Industries Limited ) had won the contract for KG (Krishna Godavari ) basin to sell the from it at $ 2.94 mmbtu which it increased to approx. $ 4.34 mmbtu .

Instead of asking RIL to honour It’s commitment, government stamped RIL’s pricing formula, if RIL went ahead will have wide ramifications like consumers will have to pay double of the stipulated price of natural gas , it will also torpedo the viability of gas based mega power projects resulting in environmental degradation.

Reportedly Mukesh Ambani ( chairman of ril) has close contact with high echelons of both Congress & BJP. He helped congress to steer out of majority test on the floor of house last year economically for alleged horse trading.

Information & Broadcasting minister A.Raja cost the national exchequer around rupees one lakh crore for few penny ( not so but vis-à-vis amount of the scam it is) taking notice of which Manmohan Singh requested to DMK supremo Karunanidhi not to give him portfolio of I&B in UPA-2 through M.K.Narayan and Ghulam Nabi Azad who backfired that allegations against A.Raja are not more than allegations of involvement of Congress’s first family in bofors case.

Let’s concentrate on agriculture minister & maratha satrap – who had high ambition for the post of prime minister before general election 2009 (I can not say he still have it or not) also held responsible for redirecting the resources only to his constituency’s regions resulting in plight of vidarbha region’s inhabitants—maintains the claim that procurement of grains by government agencies will be higher than previous year.

According to Amartya Sen’s study on china’s great famine ( 1956-1960 ) public starved despite high production due to decline in their purchasing power which it seems going to repeat in India .
Inflation and corruption will keep flowering, media will neither treat it as issue nor opposition, aam aadami is entitled to die as such.
